- DATE OF ENTRY: HUNDRED AND SEVENTH ROTATION OF THE STAR OF MEIRAN -

— LOG OF DISPATCH: —

Today I went to my first day at my new “job”. The idea of “jobs” is not foreign. Still, I thought it’d be interesting to mention that human jobs are similar to ours.

I have been stationed in a "library". A library is a building that can be accessed by any kind of human, which houses knowledge on all kinds of things. These pieces of knowledge are stored in “books”, which are made of “paper”, and fashioned into something that can be flipped through. The information is written in “ink”, which can then be read. I have read all kinds of books, containing knowledge of unfamiliar worlds that do not exist, to books that tell you how to manage your “finance” more efficiently.

It is nice that humans can simply go to a bank of knowledge if they are interested to learn or entertain themselves. I have also heard of a thing called the “internet”, which is similar to a library, but is on a thing called a “computer”. I am still unsure about what that is...

My “superior” is very kind to me. She tells me where the books I must stock are supposed to go, and what to do when humans want to “borrow” books to take with them. She also gave me a piece of “chocolate” . It has a taste that I cannot describe, but she said that it is “sweet” and she cannot have too much or her “blood sugar” will get too high. I did not ask her what this “blood sugar” is.

I notice that some humans shorten their speech. My “superior” told me to “ease up a little and not be so formal”. Perhaps I should learn some human slang to blend in more.

This planet is very warm. The humans here are kind. I am eager to learn more.
